I’m a Reliable Freelance Web Developer. I have been developing complex, highly-scalable web applications for more than twelve years. I like to follow Kaizen, a Japanese philosophy which encourages focus on persistent, continuous delivery of small but meaningful features and optimisations. I love what I do, and I thrive to learn something new every day.

Since I began my freelance and contracting work in 2012, I have developed some particular ways of working. Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.
I have worked on various interesting and challenging projects over the last 10 years.
The most recent job I had was a 6 month contract with the UK based furniture retailer DFS Sofa/Dwell. My main responsibility was to make sure that the website could cope with the large increase in traffic, so there is no disruption in sales. Also, alongside a small team we completely redeveloped and modernised the old and outdated Dwell site.
The largest project I had was with a Barcelona/Spain based company called CMP Group/Team CMP. As a member of a team of 20 developers, my task was to improve and modernise the codebase, so it could handle the (~ 100 million HTTP sessions per day) large traffic.
In 2012/2013 I created a career advice tool called MyCareerSpringboard, which was designed to help schools offer simple, effective, engaging career advice, testing, and exploration. It was used by over 1,800 UK schools.
I am only interested in fully remote work at the moment, so the work takes place remotely from within the EU.
I follow agile development principles, and I typically work in 2 week "sprints".
Every two weeks I demonstrate what has been done in the previous sprint and confirm plans for the next one. I am available on email, Slack or Skype for communication during the project. My preferred platform for project management is Trello, but I can also use Basecamp, Asana, Jira, or other PM systems.
The technologies I use highly depend on the project and the deliverables.
Nowadays I use PHP7, Laravel, JavaScript, ReactJS, MySQL, Linux and Docker for most of my projects.
My day rate depends on the specific project, the length of the contract and the technologies involved.
My typical day rate for shorter projects (< 6 months) is £350/€400/$450 + VAT (if applicable).
These rates are indicative only and subject to changes in the exchange rate.
For longer projects, I will need to discuss a day rate with you, based on the specifics of the project.
I am open to fixed, project-based pricing if you are willing to provide or create with me a detailed formal specification.
All my work is conducted through my UK company, Sancus Digital Ltd. (reg: 08026647). I ask that all invoices are paid within 14 days. I hold the right to work in all EU countries and have permanent residency in the UK. To prepare for Brexit, I have already secured indefinite leave to remain/settled status in the UK under the new settlement scheme. I am covered by UK professional indemnity insurance (Hiscox policy number: 1919042).
